Brave Mario 64 - Vanilla RPG
"Over a year of work and months of lost sleep went into this remake of my latest hack. Now that I think I have added enough new custom mechanics and cool stuff, plus with several crashes fixed (some rather obscure ones too, which I missed before), I guess it is time to share this thing."
Replay the vanilla Super Mario 64 with various new ways to experience the game. Now with more RPG-staple elements than the past hack, you can upgrade Mario's status with FOUR different stats, check your items in the upgraded pause menu, change your username, enemy item drops, and more!
NEW FEATURES:
>New Item check menus.
>The Special Switches are now in every level. Less backtracking or other shenanigans.
>Expanded assortment of items, which can now be used manually.
>A secret alternate ending. Can you find it before it's too late?
>Flag items that can alter the game experience.
>CHAIN EXP. (Why on earth did I not think of this before?) Defeat enemies in succession to multiply the experience gained by the number of consecutive kills.
>An all-new custom level that can be unlocked at 120 Stars.
>No more 100-coin Stars. Instead you will receive a star piece for every 50 coins.
>A bestiary item that enables checking the description of various entities and animals, including strategies.
>A new Moxie stat that upgrades some of Mario actions.
>50 Silver Stars hidden among the courses and hub world. What might these be for? There are 2 in most courses and 4 in the main hub.
>New Warp Pads for faster travel from point to point within the same world. Ditching the obscure warp menu with limited warp points, now you have up to 9 warp locations per level!
>A username entry for each file. Talk to the MIPS in front of the castle to enter a name for the file select, up to 9 characters long.
>A new, optional transformation late in the game. Adds a new move at the cost of extra damage and halved attack power.
Rev 1: Fixed Chain Exp getting delayed. Removed reset bars.
Rev 2: Fixed unhandled opcode (bad branch) when attempting to ground pound during flying triple jump without unlock. Corrected the WF/CC star doors.
Rev 3: Fixed Pokey parts giving more EXP than intended. Moved a moneybag for less frustration, swapped some Snifits to be less annoying. Improved the branch changed in Rev 2.
Forgot to mention anywhere that the Fast Enemy code is a near-replica of Dudaw's code.
